As Rajasthan is tuning to a different rhythm altogether embracing itself against all odds faced by the poorer and vulnerable sections of the society, the state has proved results yet again. The smart classes is no longer a far cry for a section of students.

The state education department has created 30 smart classrooms in government schools in Ajmer. This is for the first time that this initiative has been pioneered in the state.

Notably, this concept has been welcomed and hence deployed to make a considerable difference tin the lives of the underprivileged.

At all 30 schools chosen for this purpose, 1 class has been converted into smart classrooms which sport projectors and screens.

These classrooms will be well connected with 4G and broadband internet connection, which have been integrated to access web portals.

Impressively, as the country is ushering and welcoming the CSR initiative, SBBJ also made it’s way into the social arena. State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur has decided to take up this project under its CSR initiative. The bank has given a grant of Rs 1 crore towards the completion of the overall project.

Vasudev Devnani, state education minister, said, “This is an attempt to enhance the quality of education by making technological interventions. These new-age tools – projectors and screens – will be within the reach our students and will fulfil our aim of making education inclusive in the state.” Devnani added, “If every MLA creates smart classes in his/her constituency, that day is not far when at least one class in all government schools will be covered under this project.”Moreover, to increase flexibility, school principals have been asked to utilize these services and digital rooms in the manner they opine as the best.

Moiniya Islamia Sr School, Ajmer, has started doing the test run of smart classes. Shiv Prasad Gautam, principal of this school, has created email ids of senior secondary students. “The attendance has shot up since the test run has started. We have showed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat episode, which had a message for students appearing in exams, more than twice on the demand of students,” said Gautam.

These schools will be inaugurated by the minister of state for finance Arjunlal Meghwal on February 22 in Ajmer.

Amit Sharma, coordinator of smart classrooms in Ajmer said, “These smart classes are no less than those at elite schools. They have air conditioners, power back-up, LED lights, printers, scanners and are connected with education portals like NCERT, SCERT, Khan Academy, etc., to give an enriching experience to our students. There are minimum 30 chairs in each class so that students can sit for hours.”
