From previous year, the airlines saw a steep hike in responses due to the increased rise in convenience levels. The fair rates got unimaginably lower increasing footfall on the airports. For example the Jaipur airport has got a whooping hike of 24% in passenger traffic in the year 2016-17. This was comparison from the previous year.

The latest passenger traffic data from the Airports Authority of India says that in the year 2016-17, more than 4 lakh passengers travelled the Jaipur by air. The data was about 3.63 lakh in the year 2015-16.

Also, the number of flights rose from 2,923 to 3,744 with an increase of 28%.

Also, this summer is going to get some new additions in flights in Jaipur. This way, Jaipur will be connected to Surat via air travelling. The Jaipur to Surat connecting flight will soon be launched by Spice Jet on June 1. The usual boarding timing will be 6.55 am and the destination timing will be 8.45 am. If you are planning on a return journey, the back way flight will be at 8.10 pm to 9.50 pm Jaipur.

On the first floor of Terminal 2, the Jaipur airport has two extra gates. JS Balhara, the airport director mentioned, “This is expected to reduce congestion during peak hours”.

The authorities are also planning to have an additional exit gate along with it.

Presently, the Jaipur airport is operating in 48 flights along with six international flights. With bigger number of footfalls and plans, they are planning to get arrival terminals by the year 2019.

Here, one more interesting thing is, the Jaipur airport operations will soon be passed to a private handler. The running for terminal building will have bids by the seven different firms. The one with the highest will also take care of other operations at airport premises. The bids will be completed by the end of the May month.
