For its royalty collection contract for minerals, Andhra Pradesh will embrace the Rajasthan model. Three day official visit was conducted by officials from Mines and Geology department and Granite Association in Rajasthan. During the visit, they studied the system carried by Rajasthan government to ascertain royalty and excess royalty collection contracts for all the minor and major minerals.

At Udaipur, the team spoke to some authorities and experts at the Directorate of Mines and Geology. To ease the process, the delegates of royalty collection system were presented a power point presentation. Through the presentation, the officers showed the system of royalty collection adopted in Udaipur.

On this matter, Anil Khamesra, SME (Superintendent Mining Engineer) said to TOI that, “In Rajasthan, royalty rates are determined weight based i.e. per tonne, however, in Andhra Pradesh, the criteria for measurement is per cubic foot. There is a much strenuous and cumbersome process which requires long time to measure each block while our system is convenient and profitable in terms of revenue collection”.

As per the reports, Andhra Pradesh was not following any contract system and also the royalty rates were very high. In comparison to what is followed in other states, Rajasthan has the most convenient model of royalty collection contract, as said by SME Madhusudan Paliwal. The delegation team also visited to Titardi, which is collection point for department’s excess royalty.

Andhra Pradesh is favoured with distinct minerals and is also called, “Ratna Garbha” for its huge variety of minerals and rocks.

The place is repository of several different minerals and has huge variety of Litho units and rocks. It also has host of non-industrial and industrial minerals.

Under the shades of Raje government, Rajasthan has got the world-wide recognition and this is one of the example. Not only in this, Rajasthan is progressively standing out and has got mingled in the list of developed states of the country.
