The Rajasthan government will soon initiate an encroachment-demolishing drive in the state. In the wake of Rajasthan High Court’s order, the state government will remove encroachments from national highways, footpaths, and government lands.

Starting from July 10, the encroachment drive will lead to the removal of all encroachments existent in the state, thereby paving way for a systematized and ideal state order situation.

Master Plan 2025

At a meeting held to discuss the major issues faced under the implementation process of Master Plan 2025, it was pointed out that illegal construction will be ceased at the earliest.

To ensure that the Master Plan 2025 sails smoothly, a meeting will also be held with all the directorate general (DG) of police. This will ensure seamless operations for the works to be done under the Master Plan 2025.

Minister Srichand Kriplani, Urban development, and housing (UDH) minister directed the development authorities, local bodies of the state to kickstart the drive at the earliest. Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoti also spelled out that officers promoting illegal construction will be penalized and punished.

Apart from Jaipur, Mayors of other states were also present at the meeting. Mayors of Udaipur, Ajmer Jodhpur, and Kota were also present at the meeting. They discussed the strategy towards demolishing encroachments in their respective cities.

Sources privy to the matter said, “A compliance report has to be submitted in the High Court by the State government.” If sources are to be believed, the civic bodies have been empowered to modify the master plan.

Review Meeting to abridge differences

With an aim of abridging the gap between the desired and actual results, Kriplani ensured that a review meeting will soon be held for this purpose. The review meeting will help bring complications and difficulties faced to the forefront, so that a proper plan to solve these problems can be chalked out at the earliest.
