The list of Ashok Gehlot’s scams is only getting longer and longer by the day. The mastermind politician earns ornamental sums of money as commission from his felonious confidants who are no one but multi-dollar scammers.

Minister’s loyalists take state treasury for granted. From past till now, we have witnessed a slew of scams which have eroded Rajasthan’s treasury. In 2013, Ashok Gehlot passed an indecorous treasury for incumbent chief minister Vasundhara Raje. However, it is notable that the Dholpur lady outshined her predecessor and delivered. As far as my judgement serves me well, Rajasthan’s treasury has bettered over the years due to comprehensive efforts of CM Raje.

Infact, it is derogatory for a highly favoured personality to be involved in such pejorative scams (although, in a hideous manner).

Ajay Chopra, owner and director of Crayons Advertising Agency surrendered before a special court in Jaipur for his alleged involvement in a multi-crore ad scam that took place under and in full-knowledge of the previous Ashok Gehlot government.

The Supreme Court had directed Chopra to surrender within 14 days after rejecting his interim bail petition on April 18.

Sharad Choudhrary, additional SP (ACB) spelled out: “The court handed over Chopra to us and we subsequently arrested him. He will be produced before the same ACB court on Wednesday.”

Chopra has been arrested in FIR number 408. He has been accused of forging bills of advertisements, a scam idea initiated in collaboration with Gehlot. Although the company received advertisement orders from then chief minister Gehlot, these advertisements were never displayed as banners or hoardings.

“In many cases, the accused took payment on behalf of the cable operator despite the fact that the particular cable operator never ran the advertisement nor was he given any money. We also questioned the cable operators and they said they were never contacted by anybody from the government to run any television commercials,” the ACB official said.

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had registered five separate cases in nexus with this ad scam which is worth around a whopping 500 crore. This money has been stashed away in Gehlot’s private treasury. Chopra, however, has been arrested in one of these cases. A couple of other employees have already been arrested for operating this scam.
