Centre approves 79.18 crore disaster relief to Rajasthan

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level committee which approved a central assistance total of Rs 716.59 crore’s worth of to UP for drought, Rajasthan for being hit by a hailstorm and Manipur for the deadly earthquake that it faced. All the three incidents happened early this year.

The committee approved financial aid worth Rs 622.76 crore for UP, Rs 79.18 crore for Rajasthan and Rs 14.65 crore for Manipur. It made its decision after investigating proposals which were based on a report accumulated by a team which had visited the three respective states.

The committee meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officers of the Ministries of Home, Finance and Agriculture.
