ANM Skill Labs

Chief Minister Raje has announced 47 skill labs for ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery) and GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) training during the launch program of ‘Raj Sangam’ under the Akshada Program at the CM Residence. With this, Rajasthan is now India’s first state to witness the opening of so many modern and well-equipped labs under the pre-service nursing education program.

Akshada Progam is aimed at improving the health of mothers and infants of the state and ensuring improvement in their nutritional status. It’s being carried out in different districts across the state under the collaborated efforts of the state government, Tata Trust and Antara Foundation. Mrs Raje said that the program is definitely bringing positive change in the maternal and child health conditions.

CM also said that in addition to information technology, it’s also important that the personnel at grass root level should be involved with the project so as to ensure that the benefits are realized. The program is being carried out to bring the Asha, ANM, and Anganwadi workers together who are working for the maternal and child welfare.

The task of village mapping has been completed successfully. The village mapping has been done for more than 2600 villages in Jhalawar and Baran districts. The data collected through this will be utilized in other fields as well.

During the event, Mrs Raje also launched the CD of Triple A integrated ‘app’, ‘Hum Hain Triple A’ Comics, and ‘Jago ri Kishori’ Song. The tablet-based app will allow the Aasha, ANM and Anganwadi workers to make use of the common database. Furthermore, she said that girl students attending schools will support the ‘Triple A program’ in the form of a “change agent”.

Mr. Naveen Jain, Director, National Health Mission, informed that Rajasthan is the leading state to have started 47 skill labs to bring quality in the ANM and GNM training at the cost of INR 12.50 Crores. While 33 of the labs are for ANM training, the rest 14 have been set up for GNM.
