The women and child development department of the state is divided into two – integrated child development services and women development.

With being long, the recently announced budget had many overlooked factors. In a recent report, the Budget Analysis and Research Center, Jaipur stated that allocation of funds to women and child development is 17% higher than the previous year. With investing Rs. 1,896.98 crore to this department, the state government decided to bring a breakthrough in this.

Sadly, the outcome will hypothetical as it all depends on the actual execution of funds. Like, in the year 2015-16, the actual spent on contrary to Rs. 1,781.92 was mere Rs. 208.28 crore.

This year’s budget brought a bit sigh of relief for Anganwadi workers as the Chief Minister announced that, they will be given the incentives of Rs. 250-500 each month on basis of their work performance.

The very ambitious Rajshree Yojana for the education girl children as been linked to Bhamashah Yojana platform. This way, the BPL families can get their girls educated with a smooth procedure. The scheme will be applied to girls which are born after June 2016.

Also, the state has 39 Mahila Sahla Suraksha Kendras which will be responsible for relieving the women who are facing distress issues. The irony is, these 39 centers have been given small portion of the monetary funds amounting to Rs. 1.5 crore. According to this, every center will get a share of Rs. 4 lakh.

The state also has Aparajita centers which are for crisis management of women. The pink city Jaipur has only one such center located at SMS hospital of the city. Although, 15 more such centers have been announced by the CM, with some handful funds of Rs. 1 crore.

As per BARC’s observations, many schemes and plans have remained untouched despite of the enough funds allocated to them. For instance, Dhanlakshmi kendras which were introduced to make women sell their products have not seen the light of the day yet.
