A prominent German-Indian television actress, Suzanne Bernert had a beautiful experience on her recent trip to Jaipur. Suzanne Bernert who is famous for her role as Queen Helena in the Indian television show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat was recently in Jaipur for a private trip.

Being an avid shopper and lover of Rajashtani antique jewellery and art-pieces, Suzanne left for roaming about the city on her own terms. She was shocked at how the state had become a better place than the last time she visited Jaipur.

“I came to Jaipur in 2012 to shoot for a short film on Indian tourism called Atithi Devo Bhava. At that time my experience of shopping at local markets was not good. The roads were not in a good condition and it was a lot crowded. But, this time I can see that the city has become more organized and beautiful. The roads have been broadened and they are clean too. I had a hassle-free shopping experience on this trip. I bought jewellery and some Rajasthani handicraft items,” Suzanne expressed.
Suzanne unabashedly complained about the chaos which she had to deal with on her last visit to the pink city. “While I was shooting for the short film in Hawa Mahal, a lot of people thronged the monument and hindered the shoot. It got chaotic as people were jumping from every direction to take selfies with me. Despite many security persons, the shoot was interrupted several times,” Suzzane complained blatantly.

After the immense complaints which flowed in from the actress, Suzzane appreciated the hospitable nature of Rajasthanis. I was shooting for the show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat in Jaisalmer in 2015 and we stayed there for almost two weeks. One day, I, along with my co-actors, Teej Sapru and Sumit Kaul, went for shopping at the local market but it was shut due to some protest. Since we had nothing to do, we decided to have tea at a small restaurant. The manager there recognized us immediately and didn’t charge us anything. This shows that people of this state are very hospitable,” Suzanne informed.

Regarding her recent visit to Jaipur, Suzzane was happy and rejoiced as it was upto the actress’s expectations. Undoubtedly, Rajasthan has witnessed another stream of development and peace across the state.
