The water that we drink today has likely been around in one form or another since the ages when dinosaurs used to roam on Earth, hundreds of millions of years ago. While more than 70% of Earth is covered with water and atmosphere is playing its part by recycling it at a constant speed. But the exploding population has made it difficult for the atmosphere to match up the speed of consumption. Water scarcity, in particular, is an abstract concept to many and a penetrating reality for others. It is the result of myriad environmental, political, economic, and social forces.
Rajasthan has also suffered from water scarcity since ages due to a desert state. But the picture started to transform since CM Vasundhara Raje initiated MJSA project in the state. MJSA or Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyaan is one of the most ambitious projects launched in Rajasthan as it is focused on providing long-term solutions to the water scarcity issues of the state.
The project has already been initiated in various districts of Rajasthan and fruitful results of the hard work of Government can be seen by people. May it be, related to waste water management or roof top rainwater harvesting; MJSA shows a promising future by replenishing varied water needs of the rural as well as urban sectors. The first stage of the project has been successfully completed and the public is excited to see its results. The barren landscapes are turning green and the ground water level is being restored.
The enthusiastic and combined efforts of Government and masses have made MJSA a success. The last 6 months have seen a remarkable improvement in the ground water level of our state because of Government constructed water harvesting constructions. The monsoon rain water got collected in those water collectors and people are now using it in various ways, like drip water irrigation or even other use.
Following video ensures the success of the project and how it transformed this state into a greener region. The focused and dynamic personality of Vasundhara Raje once again proved that it might not be easy to bring a change but if you yourself become a change, things will turn in your favor:
