Unlike its prequel, upcoming Bollywood movie Jolly LLB 2 landed in controversies ever before it landed in the silver screens. In this regard, Jaipur court summoned Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, co-actor Annu Kumar and movie director Subhash Kapoor to appear in court on March 10. The legal directions were issued by additional chief metropolitan magistrate Ashok Sain, in response to a petitioned filed by a Sanganer based lawyer Tikam Chand Sharma.

For those who don’t know Jolly LLB 2 is directed by Subhash Kapoor. The movie presents Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor as the star cast. The movie revolves around the life of a struggling lawyer named Jolly (Akshay Kumar) who attempts to establish his career in the legal industry. His girlfriend (Huma) supports him through thick and thin. The climax features Jolly’s fight against the corruption in Indian judiciary system.

Based on the trailers released by the production house, petitioner Tikam Chand accused the movie makers of depicting Indian lawyers in a poor light in the movie. The requester claimed that a few scenes in the movie show lawyers fighting with each other within the court premises, which offended several legal practitioners across the country.

In short, the movie paints a pathetic picture of Indian judiciary. If the movie is allowed to be released then people might lose faith in the legal system altogether, the petitioner claimed.

Before this episode, a similar incident took place in the Bombay High Court, where Ajay Kumar Waghmare requested the court that the term ‘LLB’ should be dropped from the title, as it puts questions on the clean image of countless lawyers in India. Thereafter, a panel comprising of 3 members was formed to review the movie scenes.

Meanwhile, the Jaipur court directed the police commissioner of Mumbai to escort the offenders to the court. As of now, there are rumours that the court is planning to give a clean chit to Jolly LLB 2 team, provided they remove the controversial scenes from the movie. However, we can’t say anything for sure.

Seems like it’s difficult to make movies on any subject in India. After all, it’s hard to please and convince the public regarding something good that you’ve done.
