Did you know that three-fourth of total National Highways built in the country are built in Rajasthan? Well, if it sounds a little unrealistic, let’s get in terms with reality.

Quite recently, public works department minister, Yunus Khan declared projects worth more than an ornamental Rs 850 crore in various assembly constituencies.

In addition to this announcement, he also claimed that Rajasthan has now become a state with the maximum number of highway projects which are under construction in the whole country.

Not only this, the state contributes approximately 75% towards national highway construction in the country, the minister beamed.

The minister also informed that the more than Centre has sanctioned more than Rs 5,000 crore have been allocated for road connecting Jaipur-Kishangarh-Udaipur.

The minister also highlighted the ongoing schemes and plans. He also shed light on the upcoming projects of Urban Development and Housing department.

Among major announcements, PWD will lay road on Brij Chaurasi Kos Yatra connecting Saint to Narora in UP. For this government will spend Rs 200 crore.

About Rs 60 will be spent on Kir ki Chowki to Akola, Fatehnagar road in Chittaurgarh.

Through voice vote, the house also passed grants of Rs 90.31 crores for housing through voice vote.

Kriplani also announced that Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana will be launched in all the UITs.

Under this 11,000 families from low income group (LIG) will get financial aid, bringing the cost of homes under Rs 2 lakh.

Kriplani also cleared out that according to a recently concluded survey, there is a deficit of about Rs 10.5 lakh homes. JDA announced a scheme in Begas, a village in which special grants were given to widows, divorcees and single women above 40 years.

The minister also informed the house that the Rajasthan Housing Board has delivered well.
