During the work commencement ceremony of Barmer refinery on Tuesday, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje addressed the public and spoke at length about the changes that the projects is set to bring along for the state. She said that foundation stones of various projects worth more than 50,000 Crores are scattered across the state while many projects which were announced during the 5-year term of Congress are still on papers.

She said that BJP doesn’t just lay foundation stone but also believes in erecting the building. CM Raje thanked PM Modi for launching the commencement work of the Pachpadra refinery and expressed her faith that PM Modi will also inaugurate the refinery in the year 2022. She even appealed to the Prime Minister to consider the proposal for a desalinization project for Barmer that would ensure clean water for the district.

Talking more about the project, she revealed that skills development centre will be set up at the HPCL Barmer Refinery. Besides, the petrochemical branch will be introduced in Jodhpur Polytechnic College to make sure that the local youth can avail benefits from the project.

CM Raje also revealed as to how the state has achieved a greater solar power capacity which has grown five times in the last 4 years. Owing to this development, the country’s biggest solar park is going to be established at Bhasra in Barmer.

On the occasion, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan was also present and addressed the public. In his speech, he said that Barmer is rich in various mineral resources. He revealed that government is planning to invest INR 1 Lakh Crores in Barmer in the next 5 years and several ancillary units are to be set up in the region.

This is India’s first Greenfield Bharat Stage VI petrochemical project being developed at the total cost of INR 43,129 Crores. The state government has 26% stake while HPCL has 74% stake in the refinery.
