Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Shri Rajendra Rathod and Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Arun Chaturvedi presented the six major awards received by the Union Rural Development Ministry. The desert state received 6 awards for the phenomenal work which was undertaken in different parts of the state.

CM Raje expressed her happiness on being felicitated with these awards. This achievement will motivate other departments towards achieving maximum results and deliver better, CM Raje said.

At the function organized on June 19 at Vigyan Bhawan, a host of ministers and officials were present. Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development, Shri Sudarshan Sethi, Rural Development Secretary, Shri Rohit Kumar, Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Samti Sharma were among the few attendees at the event. Moreover, Union Ministry of Rural Development, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Minister of State for Rural Development, Shri Ramkripal Yadav, Chief Executive Officer Kota Shri Jugal Kishore Meena and Tow Head of the District Panchayat Bajwa Mr. Bannalal Gujjar received the awards.

Rajasthan bagged the following awards

The state was conferred with the Convergence and Livelihood Augmentation Award and Transparency and Accountability Award in Mahatma Gandhi NREGA. Additionally, Kota district was awarded for effective implementation of MNREGA, while the Bagadwa panchayat of Tonk district was awarded the best performing Gram panchayat in the implementation of the MNREGA.

Similarly, the Rajasthan Livelihood Mission was recognized and awarded as the best performance for NREGA convergence work in 2016-17. The desert state was also awarded for pioneering the online pension making plans online to the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
