Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd gave out statement through one of its employee that, “685 MW was highest capacity addition achieved for any financial year in the state and attributed the performance to a three-year RPO policy that mandated state discoms to buy a certain percentage of conventional energy from the wind sources.”

Whereas, Chandra Shekhar Khunteta, the Secretary of Rajasthan Council of Indian Wind Power Association, said that, “It would be difficult for Rajasthan to hold on to the lead over Gujarat unless the government extends the RPO (renewable purchase obligation) policy that ended last year. He also raised concerns of non-payment of dues to the tune of Rs 1,200-1,300 crore by the discoms which can further discourage investors.”
