University-Of-RajasthanIn the capital city of Rajasthan, the Union of Rajasthan University has freshly issued its notification related to elections. The way student poll fever kicked in it seems, everyone in the university was eagerly waiting for a green signal. These notifications were further accompanied by recommendations by Lyngdoh Committee.

The election fever throughout Rajasthan University takes in a lot of extra duties to get alarmed and start functioning. To be on safer and in control, the police force has take over the entry gates. For the next few days, only students with ID cards will be allowed to enter and all the unruly ones will be stopped right away.

One of the strong parties i.e ABVP took this opportunity to announce Akhilesh Pareek as its new candidate for RUSU president’s post.

The election in charge for this year is Vijayveer Singh. He stated that,

“There will be zero tolerance for errant students and their groups. The nominations for all posts are scheduled for August 26 and the last date for candidates to withdraw their names is August 27. The polling will take place on August 31 from 8am to 2pm. The counting will start at 3 pm and the result will be declared in the evening.”

This year, to avoid any sort of violence to take place, Rajasthan University has adequately planned some full-proof arrangements. Certain number of cameras will be installed throughout the campus. Each one of them will monitor various activities the students will indulge in.

Other than this, the voting processes will be conducted in a different format i.e through a ballot box. But this was not the initial plan of the election authority of the university. They wanted electronic voting machines from the state election office but in spite of trying till the eleventh hour, all their attempts failed.

There is no doubt that these new notification from the university has revved up all self-proclaimed leaders and student groups in great amounts. The university has been newly littered with pamphlets and banners and it can be clearly witnessed through behavior of people because since morning the students and leaders have started campaigning by reaching students in classes, hostels, canteens, libraries etc. Each student is being requested to come and vote.

Such hyped up energies are seen every time election time approaches. Both the parties of NSUI and ABVP have become extremely active and their processes of short listing candidates have begun.
