Rajasthan Budget 2017 Presented by Vasundhara Raje

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced the much awaited state budget today at around 11 A.M. As expected the budget gave major impetus to women upliftment, employment opportunities and ease of doing business.

Let us have a quick look at the major highlights of the Rajasthan Budget 2017 which will prove to be turning point for business operations in the state.

The Stamp duty has been reduced on documents of land conversion and land use change.

Registration fee on some documents of agreements, hypothecation deed, further charge and mortgage deed has been downsized from 1% to 0.1%, subject to a maximum reduction of Rs. 50,000.

Rate of stamp duty on documents of further charge plummeted from 2% to 0.15%.

Stamp duty on loan documents of up to Rs. 10 lacs under MUDRA Yojana are now exempted.

This budget is known to have something for everybody. Even the last man in the corner has been taken into account. The backward areas have seen a favourable outlook in the budget.

Enterprises established in municipal areas of backward and most backwards districts to be given benefits Take a quick glance at the major highlights:

100% exemption of electricity duty instead of 50% which was granted earlier.

EFCI limit will not be applicable for investment subsidy and employment generation subsidy.

Additional Special interest subsidy of 0.5% to be given to the enterprises being established backward area and 1% in most backward areas.

Exemption from stamp duty provided to reverse mortgage loans taken by senior citizens.

50% relief in payment of special road tax for contract carriage buses used by industrial and commercial institution on long term contract.

CM Raje has always been very precise and centered towards empowering and uplifting the women and girls of the state. Her relentless dedication towards making the city a better place for the females was reflected in the Rajasthan Budget 2017.

  • CM Rajshree Yojana to be launched for girl child.
  • 75 crore in three years for repairs of govt. aanganbadi.
  • Increase in honorarium of aanganbari workers, sahayika, mini aanganbari workers, sathin and aasha sahyoganies more than 1.5 lac females to benefit.
  • New scheme for creche on PPP basis.
  • Increase in amount of subsidy for community marriage.
  • MSME facilitation centre to be established in each district.
  • Subsidy and incentive amount would be doubled for the marriage of daughter under “Sahyog and Uphar Yojana”.
  • The financial support to specially-abled bride and groom has been increased to Rs. 50000 per couple under “Sukhad Dampatya Jeevan Yojana”

No new tax has been introduced in the Rajasthan Budget 2017-18, thereby lessening the burden of paying multi layers of tax at various points. This will also ensure that the state dwellers are not subjected to the cascading effect of tax. Nonetheless, a 15% hike in almost all tobacco products will be seen. This step has been taken to curb the menace of growing inclination towards using tobacco products, especially among the youths.

Much has been said about Skill development. In this budget, one of the major points were directed towards skill development. Take a look at the major highlights in this regard:

  • Livelihood business incubator to commence in each district.
  • ‘Hand made in Rajasthan’ portal to be started.
  • 2 crore for training of 60000 artisans through professionals by RUDA

As Rajasthan is a hub of marvellous aesthetics and cultural explorations, budget in this concern was likely to be upscaled. A whopping Rs. 158.63 crore have been allocated for art, culture and archaeology department which is 49.42% more than the Revised Estimates of 2016-17.

In the textile sector, Khadi has been given due regard and shown intense generosity. Have a look at the budget  highlights in nexus with this sector:

  • 2.50 crore to Khadi Board for new showrooms of Khadi.
  • Provision for Rajasthan Leather Handicraft and Modernisation The Scheme has been upscaled by five times.

For the purpose of hassle-free travelling and advancement in travel methods, Raje presented a myriad of growth and development bulletins in her speech. Take a look:

  • Budget allocates nearly Rs 16 crore for maintenance of air strips in the state.
  • Kota, Ajmer and Sawai Madhopur will be connected to Jaipur by air service.
  • Travelling to religious places for 20000 senior citizens in next year including 5000 by air journey under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Senior Citizens Pilgrims Scheme.
